a stint

yesterday evening my phone kept pinging a strange stint at swillington (st aidens) at first it was a temmincks then least then it went quiet, after a hard weeks graft making hardwood windows i was shattered so early bed thinking of the coast for rares

im usually awake early,,,,so im shocked that the least is now a long toed stint and comfirmed unlike the red necked the other week

got my shit together had a few coffees then set off around 7am knowing its going to be busy i parked at my usual place by the hide easy

helped some guys from hampshire around the reserve as its massive,

walking between the 2 reedbeds i headed down the track between lemonroyd and the western reedbed, people were leaving!

after 40 years of birding i know never leave early as it may be found and its a big place, so by 8 id seen 3 spoonbills 6 little egrets 4 beared tits and heard 7 cettis warblers

i was near astley lake when a whatsapp from the club said it was back! i actually started running which is something i dont do

everyone was helpful and i let people infront of me cos im 6ft 2' after a while i left to pick up a scope from bass and bligh and headed back
