 digging out my notebooks which go back to 1985, thought i would do a 'on this day' spanning nearly 40 years of birding 

so where was i on this day 1997 turns out north wales, the aging memory is sketchy but i think i was with john beaumont and nick dawtrey 

the day started at 

talacre 

wilsons phalarope 

blue winged teal male 

gargeney female 

then on to 

morfa aber 

med gull 

common gull full albino 

peregrine 

pale bellied brent goose 1

raven 5 

then headed to anglesey for a common crane
