well the 1st patch tick of the year and what a fucking belter!
so im sat on the wall watching the canada geese(why!..............i dont know?) when i see a bird flying over the res,straight away i think peregrine,as i get my bins on it,then its one of those 'fuck me' moments(i love the fuck me moments)crows went mad along with me.

a very pleasant hour here after work,ok it would have been shit if this lesser spotted woodpecker wasnt showing so well.
add to that 6 nuthatch,1 willow tit and a buzzard.

the return of 'noisy bob'

god i hate this goose! some fucking hybrid turned up last spring,stayed a bit and fucked off.
but the fucker is back,the bastard never shuts up.
oh apart from 'noisy bob' aka 'bob the nob'

bleak and cold

well finally enough light in the evenings to make the long awaited visits.
despite the very cold wind and dusting of snow, a pair of mallards have taken up residence along with 9 canada geese.the pieds wagtails are back!! god i love those piddys!
that was it 3 species not even a carrion crow.
the res has a bit of shoreline at the moment lets hope it stays dry for the waders.
