a lovely day in the village today, took a short walk to check on what was about.

birds

still quite a few goldfinch about,with 5 at coal pit lane and 3 in southowram,linnets are doing well with 7 at coal pit lane.
good numbers of swallows around and even 5 house martins which i have found quite scarce this year!

Influx of Small Tortoiseshell this aft on Soil Hill - 25 plus seen.

House Martins have been near non existent in Queensbury this year, as Nigel says, plenty Tortoiseshells about today
