at last i managed to get to gigrin farm,blue skies and snow made for some excellent photos,if i do say so myself!!!
gigrin farm is the one place any birder should visit once,its not a reserve but just one persons vision to bring masses of red kites to the people.
a 3 hour drive for an hours worth of photography! worth it? YES

Great photos Darrell - the Black Kite must have been a good incentive. We went there 3/4 years ago - in August and well over 100 Red Kites there in the summer, guess there will be a lot more in winter. Fantastic place to go.

That one of the Red Kite with the meat in its gob is the best photo I've seen in my life. I bet you could flog them to magazines.
